About Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan lies in the north of the Central Asian Republics, surrounded by Russia in the north, China in the east, Kirghizstan and Uzbekistan in the south, and the Caspian Sea and part of Turkmenistan in the west.

It has almost 1,177 mi (1,894 km) of coastline in the Caspian Sea. Kazakhstan is about four times the size of Texas.

The territory is largely a steppe with hilly plains and plateaus.

The largest and richest of the countries dubbed 'Stans,' Kazakhstan has long been an ethnically mixed country; in the 2009 census, just 63 per cent of the population was native Kazakhs.

This foreign aspect is also a core feature of the country's higher education market, where foreign partnerships and exchanges are playing an increasingly prominent role, with universities in Kazakhstan happy to accept international students and academics from all over the world.

The dominant religion in Kazakhstan is Islam, and uncommon species present in Kazakhstan are Leopard, Eagles and Falcons.

Introduction about Medical Education in Kazakhstan:

Kazakhstan is one of the two landlocked countries in the world that has territories on two continents (the other is Azerbaijan). With an area of 2,700,000 square kilometers (1,000,000 square miles) – equivalent in duration to Western Europe – Kazakhstan is the ninth-largest nation and the largest landlocked country in the world. As part of the Soviet Union, Kazakhstan lost some of its lands to the Chinese Xinjiang Autonomous Zone and some to the Uzbek Karakalpakstan Autonomous Republic.

It has a frontier of 6,846 kilometers with Russia, 2,203 kilometers with Uzbekistan, 1,533 kilometers with China, 1,051 kilometers with Kyrgyzstan, and 379 kilometers with Turkmenistan. Significant cities include Nursultan, Almaty, Karaganda, Shymkent, Atyrau, and Oskemen. It falls between 40 ° and 56 ° N latitudes and 46 ° and 88 ° E longitudes. While mostly situated in Asia, a tiny section of Kazakhstan is also situated west of the Urals in Eastern Europe.

The land of Kazakhstan stretches west to east from the Caspian Sea to the Altay Mountains and north to south from the plains of western Siberia to the oases and deserts of Central Asia. The Kazakh steppe, with a region of approximately 804,500 square kilometers (310,600 square miles), covers 1/3 of the country and is the world's largest dry steppe location. The steppe is distinguished by the aid of large fields of grassland and sandy regions. The main oceans, lakes, and reservoirs comprise the Aral Bay, Lake Balkhash, and Lake Zaysan, the Charyn River, and the Ili, Irtysh, Ishim, Ural, and the Syr Darya reservoirs.
