Accommodation
The University's hall of residence includes several students'
quarters, - each accommodating students of a particular faculty or a
subdivision of the University. Every student has a choice between
single rooms in the Main Building and shared rooms for two or three
in other dormitory buildings not far from campus. The living
conditions in the hostel may vary in the level of comfort, the
living space, additional conveniences and facilities (telephone, TV
set, refrigerator), with the cost of accommodation being dependent
on all these factors.
Each dormitory is guided by a security downstairs and there is a
maid constantly on duty at each floor. There are common kitchens as
well as several canteens and buffets offering inexpensive
multinational meals. The Main Building also houses dry-cleaning
service, laundry, hair-styling salon, libraries, food-marts,
household stores, bookstores, gymnasiums, swimming pool, repair
service, and travel agencies.
Every student of the University is guaranteed to get an
accommodation.
Food service
The food service of the University includes several canteens and
buffets and snack-shops. In every University building one can have
tasty and cheap food. The schedule of every eating-place is adapted
to provide for the needs of everyone who would like to eat at any
time between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Medical service
The University's polyclinics for staff and students are located on
the campus. It is open daily and provides emergency treatment and
general health care. There you can find general therapists as well
as specialists in all areas of medical care including dentists.
International students have two options:
1. Bring an international insurance policy (make sure it works in
Ukraine) and use the clinics stated by it;
2. Purchase medical insurance policy at the University polyclinics
or any other medical center.
Sports and Recreation
The University students make excellent provision for sporting and
social activities. They cater for all levels from beginner to
international level. The undergraduate students' curriculum includes
classes of physical training. Along with it students are welcome to
participate in a wide variety of individual and team sports. There
are nearly 30 sports sections specializing in different sports. The
University Sports and Recreation Center includes the best baseball
stadium in Ukraine, soccer field; and indoor/outdoor courts for
basketball, volleyball, handball and tennis. The annual MSU
championship includes interdepartmental competitions in thirty
different sports. A number of University students and employees are
members of national teams on different kinds of sport.
Safety
Universities campus is completely isolated from the distractions of
the city. It is fenced in on all sides and patrolled by internal
security systems. In addition, every gateway into the campus and
every building on campus are monitored by Safety Officers. The
residence hall contains a security guard at the entrance and a
safety attendant on each floor. Every resident is issued an
identification card, which has to be presented to the security guard.
